Mad Maex
Fast, powerful sounds, grippingly melodic and spiced with a good portion of hardness - that's how Maximilian Krohn alias Mad Maex, describes his sound. He‘s at home in the Lehmann Club Stuttgart, where he regularly delights the audience with driving, hard and percussive techno beats.
The starting shot for his career was in 2014, when Mad Maex attended his first big techno festival 'Nature One'. It quickly became clear to him: That's it! That’s what I want to do! He was particularly taken with Len Faki's performance at 'Century Circus'. On his way back home he bought the audio software from FL Studios and started to practice a lot - at first in the basement for his friends, but shortly afterwards the first gigs were starting to line up. At that time, he would never have dreamed that he would play at Nature One in the summer of 2022.
In 2019, Mad Maex founded the label NewKids Records together with his best friends. Inspired by the origins of electronic music, the boys combine old and new sounds. Their label gives them the opportunity to give free rein to their creativity and at the same time bring their vision of music to the world. The first small success was not long in coming: Their debut went straight into the Beatport Top 100.
A short time later, Mad Maex fulfilled his next, long-awaited wish: the collaboration with the Lehmann Club in Stuttgart. From his first visit to Lehmann, he knew that he didn't just want to be a regular here, but also an artist. In 2021 the time had come, Mad Maex played his first club night at the club and was able to organise regular events at the notorious club with NewKids Records. Mad Maex also unfolded his talent on the "Lehmann Home 1" album, on which he was involved as a producer.
Mad Maex marks his energeticness on his new EP "Facets", which will be released in November 2022.
The EP is infused with a driving sound that is enhanced by lightness and melodiousness without sacrificing Mad Maex's usual heaviness. Although the tracks follow the same musical approach and create a cohesive picture thanks to a similar mood, the different influences and facets of the individual pieces are nevertheless recognisable: they reflect the various experiences that have shaped the DJ and producer over the past year, above all his collaboration with Stuttgart‘s Lehmann Club.
The "Facets" EP underlines Mad Maex's potential and ability and once again stirs up high expectations for the future of the up-and-coming DJ and producer.
